COMMUNITY SHIELD REVIEW
Its all over the Wembley stadium for the English premier league curtain raiser. Arsenal have beat Chelsea FC 4-1 on penalties after the game was deadlock at the 90 minutes at 1-1. Chelsea FC had started the game under fire wth Arsenal being a constant threat. The premier league champions however managed to ease things a bit as they took the lead sooner after half time (46') through wing back Victor Moses. Chelsea then seemed to control the game thereafter. All this changed when a moment of controversy occurred when Pedro was given a straight red card on the 80th minute. As Pedro went off arsenal scored on the subsequent equalizer through sunmer signing Kolasinac. Morata had came in before the incident in place of Michy but was looking all out of sorts. The sending off of pedro only made it worse. Chelsea despite 10 men however managed to hold on as the game ended 1-1. As per rule of the community shield its straight to penalties. The system used was the new ABBA penalty shootout format. Chelsea too the first spot kick and scored through captain Cahill. Arsenal through Walcott and Monreal made it all easy also from the spot. Moment of madness came when it was Chelsea turn to kick and i knew in my gut at that moment that this was going to be disastrous and for sure it was. Goalkeeper T.Curtoius cams ahead of seasonal takers such as Cesc fabregas,David Luiz and Azpilicueta to take Chelsea's next kick. The goalkeeper skyrocketed the shot and gave arsenal an advantage. Summer signing Morata missed his spot kick also for the premier league champions. Olivier Giroud scored the winning penalty for the FA cup champions to lift the 95th community shield.
WHAT LIES AHEAD.......
Seems like more problems for Antonio conte for the new season. Hazard still out injured,Morata looking off form, Bakayoko still injured,Pedro suspended, Alonso injured and with already a thin squad after over 17 players have been let go during the transfer window. As for arsenal a lot of positives to take by Arsene Wenger as his team played very well. Alexis Sanchez though still subject to many speculation about his future.
